Canna+Herbs Course

Canna+Herbs Course

From: $107.50 / month

Some people praise cannabis (Cannabis sativa) for its ability to help soothe their nausea, anxiety, or pain, increase their appetite and fall asleep more soundly. Others share stories of cannabis making them feel out of control, dizzy, or scared. To some, it’s a gateway drug, and to others, it’s the only herb that offers serious support. So who’s “right” – and is it even legal?

In the online, self-paced Canna+Herbs Course, we explore the many ways you can safely and responsibly invite this storied botanical into your herbal practice with intention and respect. Learn the multi-layered history of cannabis and its legalization status before diving into botany and key terms, like the difference between cannabis and hemp. With that information under your belt, you’re well-prepared to explore the phytochemistry and therapeutic properties of cannabis, including both THC and CBD, and how they interact with our body’s fascinating endocannabinoid system. You’ll learn how to choose the best cannabis products, how to grow and process your own cannabis, how to blend formulas that combine cannabis with other herbs, and how to make cannabis preparations, including oils and tinctures, that you can then use in the herbal recipes we share.

Whether you’re completely new to cannabis and hope to cut through the clutter and discover the truth about this special plant — or are an experienced canna-connoisseur who wants to more confidently interweave this time-tested plant into your herbal practice — this much-anticipated course has something for everyone!

Once you click sign up, you’ll also see your optional access to the course’s exclusive Bonus Portal for $15 displayed in your cart. This robust Bonus Portal includes more than $350 worth of additional cannabis resources, including videos, recipes from bestselling cannabis books, downloadable materials, and our original Culinary Canna-Recipes ebook that will help you make delicious cannabis treats at home to address pain, nausea, mood, and sleep.

Description

What’s the difference between cannabis and hemp? What about THC and CBD? Is cannabis even legal where I live? Can I enjoy the health benefits of cannabis without getting “high”? How can I figure out my personal best dosage for my health goals? I tried cannabis once and felt really uncomfortable – is that going to happen to me again?

If these are some of the questions running through your mind, you are not alone. With the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, cannabis is quickly emerging from the shadows, and new stores selling hemp- and cannabis-infused products seem to be popping up everywhere you look. And with this rapidly changing herbal landscape, we’ve received a lot of questions about how to safely and legally incorporate this powerful plant ally into the herbal toolkit.

There’s a lot of confusion and misinformation when it comes to cannabis best practices, and we’ve presented the most up-to-date research, techniques, and recipes so that you have the best experience possible.

Learn how to work confidently with cannabis

This course is designed to introduce cannabis to your home apothecary through the same lens that you would approach other herbs, like peppermint, lavender, or motherwort. However, because some cannabis preparations have psychoactive constituents, we pay especially close attention to two important details: safety and dosage.

You may have heard stories of someone eating an edible and then feeling overwhelmed, sick, or simply stuck on the couch. Maybe this has even happened to you. These effects most often occur with high-THC cannabis use, too high of a dose, or too short of a period between dosing. Carefully choosing cannabis strains, dosage, and frequency of dose can help us use cannabis as a supportive herbal ally.

In the Canna+Herbs Course, we made sure to hone in on safety and dosage, explaining in simple, everyday terms how to find the best dosage for your personal tolerance and goals, and how often to consume cannabis products for your intended effects. As you work through the course, you’ll identify your personal goals for working with this time-tested herb (nausea? sleep? appetite?) and then calculate the dosage and preparation you can start with to help you feel supported and nourished, which is always our intention when working with herbs.

After you’ve identified your goals, you’ll be equipped with everything you need to know to make safe, effective, and balanced cannabis preparations at home!

By combining cannabis with complementary herbs, you can amplify specific actions and effects all while decreasing the dose of cannabis needed to attain the desired effect. You can also include herbs that counteract some of the energetics or actions of cannabis, particularly those that are undesired. For example, if you wanted to create a cannabis-infused formula to soothe nausea –  but didn’t want the sedative qualities of a particular cannabis strain in that formula – then you could add a stimulating herb to partially offset that strain’s sedative tendencies.

Fascinating, isn’t it? This is the more advanced world of cannabis formulation, and it’s something everyone can pursue with a little herbal know-how and guidance.

Through the Canna+Herbs Course, you’ll learn the art and science of blending formulas that combine cannabis with other herbs. Your user-friendly companion workbook reinforces the course information and provides you application guidance to help you put your new skills to work! The Canna-Formulation Workbook lays out the tools you need to start developing your own cannabis-centric herbal formulas that are well balanced and effective, with plenty of brainstorming and recording space so that you have a record of what works, and what doesn’t, along with helpful charts that summarize various plant categories, actions, and energetics so you can easily identify which herbs will work best in the formulations you develop.

When you add the Canna+Herbs Course to your cart, upgrade your enrollment with this workbook. Or, you can purchase this workbook separately via our Goods Shop.
