Program Details

The Advanced Herbal Course requires students to successfully pass 10 unit quizzes with a score of 80% or higher. In addition to reading and studying the lesson material throughout the course and passing the quizzes at the end of each unit, the course includes unit exercises and a monograph project to be completed on a self-study basis. The unit exercises have been developed to help students engage with and explore lesson content in more detail. The monograph project guides you through developing plant monographs for herbs of your own choosing. We recommend choosing 3-4 herbs discussed in each body system unit or wellness unit in the course and experiencing and researching each of these herbs, compiling the information into plant monographs.

Upon successful passage of all quizzes, students will be notified of their graduation with a signed certificate of completion.

While we recommend spending 1-2 months of serious study in each unit, students have the ability to work at their own pace toward completion of the course and can spend more or less time in each unit. Students will have Lifetime Access* to the online portion of the program. Each of the units, recipes, graphics, and video transcripts are available to download as printable PDF files should students want digital downloads or print copies.

“The Advanced Herbal Course was a trove of useful information. I could not have asked for a better educational foundation as I continue on with my work with plants. ”
Kristy Baird
“I absolutely loved every minute of the advanced course with the Herbal Academy! I had already taken the intermediate course, which gave me a pretty solid foundation for working with herbs in my day to day life, and this course really solidified that foundation for me. I loved learning more about the history of herbal medicine, diving deep into the anatomy and physiology of various body systems and health issues, and really getting to know so many plants in more detail and learning the nuances of each of them. I’ve come away from this course much more confident in my practice of herbal medicine, and have been able to help myself and my community countless times throughout my studies. This has been such a wonderful and rewarding experience, and while I’m sad to see it end, I feel well-prepared for whatever the future brings!”
Whitney Grutzmacher
“I’ve studied with HANE since 2014, taking various small and intensive courses. Most recently, I completed the Advanced/ Clinical Herbalism program. I’ve loved this school since my very first interaction with the staff and the programs offered. There is a level of professionalism that goes above and beyond, and the resources provided to students are unbeatable.
I’ll always recommend HANE as my first choice for herbal education, and I often recommend to clients that they take an introductory Herbalism course through HANE so that they can begin their own journeys into understanding the history, intentions and processes behind Herbalism. ”
– Em Miiller, Herbalist/ Iridologist:
“The education was very comprehensive and will definitely help in furthering my career.”
