Biography

Heather is an Austin-based food photographer and herbalist. She studied art and theater in California, and upon moving to Texas, enrolled at the Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine to further her herbalism education. Growing up next to an apple orchard in New Hampshire, she fell in love with nature, spending most of her childhood collecting plants and climbing trees. She runs the blog www.mrsbarnes.com -focusing on simple, seasonal recipes, and effortless entertaining. Heather believes that there’s beauty everywhere if you simply stop and slow down. And you can never have enough flowers. As Claude Monet said, "I must have flowers, always and always."
