Lifetime Access
As of July 24, 2023, Herbal Academy has migrated all courses, unless otherwise noted on individual course enrollment pages, to lifetime access. We’ve prepared a carefully mapped-out execution plan to support all of our current and future students in the very best possible transition forward with this lifetime access structure. To summarize:
1 – Starting on July 24, 2023: All Foundational Courses and Short Courses are now enrolling with lifetime access unless otherwise noted (for example, free courses and workshops may enroll with an alternative time-based access structure). Courses have received appropriate tuition and/or benefits adjustments to reflect the ongoing access to support and educators that lifetime access entails.
2 – Current, active students in courses: You will find a new option to purchase lifetime access to all of your individual courses that qualify. Find these lifetime access purchase opportunities in your Student Dashboard.
3 – Expired courses: You will find a new option to purchase lifetime access in lieu of an extension purchase on all expired courses that qualify. Find these opportunities in your Student Dashboard.
4 – Students who’ve previously purchased extensions: Your qualifying course(s) have automatically converted to lifetime access. No need to do anything!
View your personalized Lifetime Access options in your Student Dashboard!
(Lifetime Access options are displayed in your Student Dashboard, next to individual courses)
Through this migration process, it has been extremely important to us that we offer a smooth and favorable transition for our students and community, especially to students who’ve previously purchased extension options on their course(s).
Please review our more detailed Lifetime Access FAQ below for more information:
When does Herbal Academy’s Lifetime Access start?
Herbal Academy’s courses have transitioned to Lifetime Access as of July 24, 2023. All future enrollments on courses will automatically incorporate lifetime access into registration. Previously enrolled students or current students can purchase Lifetime Access on any qualifying course through their Student Dashboard.
What exactly does Lifetime Access mean?
Lifetime Access is access to the course, portal, or product that you purchased for as long as the particular course, portal, or product version is offered by the Herbal Academy. Access will cease when that particular course, portal, or product is no longer offered by the Herbal Academy. Herbal Academy reserves the right to revoke any access and use of any course, portal, or product at any point in time should it be decided, or in situations when obligated to disable access to the content due to legal or policy reasons. Lifetime Access may not apply to free courses, workshops, intensives, and other courses or offerings that specify time access other than Lifetime Access on their enrollment pages. It’s important to note that Lifetime Access is to the course, portal, or product, but not to the educators, support team, or community groups.
Students are encouraged to download the course materials including PDFs, media downloads, and transcripts for their personal, non-commercial, educational use. Students need to be aware that they may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, rent, lend, share, modify, adapt, edit, or create derivative works of the course and material, or otherwise transfer or use any course or material outside of individual use. This also applies to material that may be accessed via Herbal Academy’s APIs (application programming interfaces).
I’m a current student or previously enrolled student, do I have Lifetime Access now?
No, courses are not automatically migrated to Lifetime Access unless the student has previously purchased an extension for the course(s). You will find a new option to purchase Lifetime Access to all of your individual courses that qualify.
Find these lifetime access purchase opportunities in your Student Dashboard.
Why do I have to purchase Lifetime Access?
There are many considerations involved, but it really comes down to these three things:
Expense – Migrating our courses and systems to Lifetime Access is a significant undertaking involving a complete overhaul of our LMS system, technical development, a restructuring of tuition, and the retirement of extension and time-based access options.
Fairness – Through this migration process, it’s imperative to us that we offer a smooth and favorable transition for our students and community, especially to those students who’ve purchased extension options on their course(s) previously. Lifetime Access is the same price as previous course extensions. Course tuition and benefits for new registrations moving forward have also been adjusted to be equivalent to the value.
Support – Lifetime Access will require more ongoing support from our educators and staff and an increase in website server space, which is why tuition on programs has also been adjusted with this structural shift.
I’ve previously purchased an extension on my course(s), what now?
If your course qualifies for Lifetime Access, your program has already migrated to Lifetime Access. Enjoy!
Am I required to migrate my courses to Lifetime Access?
Lifetime Access migration is completely optional. You do not need to migrate your courses to Lifetime Access if you do not wish to. You can also choose to purchase Lifetime Access for some courses and not others. View your personalized options in your Student Dashboard.
Where do I find options to transition my Herbal Academy courses to Lifetime Access?
Log in to your student account and visit your Student Dashboard. All of your qualifying courses will feature a Lifetime Access purchase button. Note, you can choose which of your courses, if any, that you would like to transition to Lifetime Access.
Can I get Lifetime Access to older versions of courses?
No, Lifetime Access is not available on discontinued courses. Students can transfer their course to the updated program version to unlock Lifetime Access as part of the migration as long as their account is in good standing (payments are up-to-date).
Transfer with Lifetime Access options apply to Introductory Herbal Course (from Version 1), Intermediate Herbal Course (from Version 1), and Entrepreneur Herbal Course (to Business Herbal Course).

I already purchased the course! Where do I log in?
Locate the “SIGN IN” link in the upper right navigation of your screen. Log in using your student username and password. Once logged in, click on MY ACCOUNT (which replaced the sign in button) to access your student dashboard.
I am having trouble with accessing my account, can you help?
Sure! You can access your account by clicking the “SIGN IN” link in the upper right corner of the screen. Use the username and password you created a registration. If you are having issues with login try the following tips:
- Please be sure you do not have any extra spaces before or you after your username and password.
- Login is case sensitive. Make sure that all letter cases match what you used when originally creating your username and password.
- If you have reset your password at anytime, do be sure that any old passwords have been cleared from your system.
- If needed you can reset your password here.
I'm logged in, why can’t I access all of the course Units?
Access will be granted to each Unit of the course once the quiz in the previous Unit has been completed. For example, successfully completing the quiz for Unit 1 will grant access to Unit 2, and so on.
Why can't I move on to the next Unit?
Students must receive an 80% on their quizzes to proceed to the next Unit. Note that there is a quiz after each UNIT, not each lesson. Once you receive an 80%, return to your student dashboard and access the next unit from there.
How do I move on to the next Unit?
Students must receive an 80% on their quizzes to proceed to the next Unit. Note that there is a quiz after each UNIT, not each lesson. Once you receive an 80%, return to your student dashboard and access the next unit.
I can't find my student discounts.
To find the student discounts available to you, please check your Student Dashboard. If you are eligible for discounts, you will see a tab called Student Discounts in the left hand side bar. Clicking this tab will bring you to the Student Discount page.
Tell me about the course PDFs. Can I print them all out at once?
We provide PDFs of the course material so students can download the material to their computer for future access even after course access has expired. The PDFs can also be printed for offline study!
Note that the course PDFs are not available for downloading and printing all at once. The material in our courses is organized into units of study each with several lessons. There is a PDF available for each unit.
To access each unit, students take a quiz at the end of each unit and must achieve a score of 80% or higher to progress on to the next unit. Once a new unit is open and accessible, students will be able to download and print the PDF for that unit.
Early access to units is not available.
I need more time to finish my course. Can I get an extension?
Because we know that “life happens,” we have calculated the time access for each course to be double the amount of time the average student will need to complete the course. However, if you need more time beyond that please visit our extension page here to learn more about extensions and purchase an extension for your course: https://theherbalacademy.com/product-category/education/course-extensions/
Here are direct links to the course extensions:
How do I pause my course?
There is no option to pause a course once the student clicks the Start Course button and triggers the expiration date. If you need more time to complete your studies, we do offer 6 month extensions. Please visit our extension page here to learn more about extensions and purchase an extension for your course: https://theherbalacademy.com/product-category/education/course-extensions/
Here are direct links to the course extensions:
If I'm enrolled in a class but later want to upgrade my course registration to an Herbalist Path Package, will I receive the Path Package discount?
The path package discount is provided as a thank you to those students who register all at once for multiple courses. If you are interested in taking classes found in a Path Package but have already enrolled in a course, you can register for those additional courses individually. Pricing for individual courses is listed on the website and no path discount will be applied to those prices.
Can I transfer from one course to another course, or from a course to a Path Package?
Once enrolled, students may not transfer from one course to another or from a single course registration to a Path Package.
The exception is for students enrolled in the first edition Introductory or Intermediate Herbal Courses who wish to transfer to the new edition of these courses. Transfer into the new edition is permanent and not refundable.
Can I share the course and log in with friends/family?
Practicing studies, recipes and demonstrations with a friend or family member may be fun and educational, however, sharing logins and course materials will result in account cancellation. Please do not share account or login information. Thank you for understanding.
I haven't received any emails from the Herbal Academy since I enrolled.
If you haven’t received an email after signing up for our newsletter or enrolling in our programs, please search your inbox and spam for a message from “Herbal Academy.” If you are using Gmail, make sure your emails aren’t ending up in your “Promotions” tab.
How to move gmail messages from Promotions Tab to Primary Tab
One of the simplest ways to move an email is to left-click and hold on the email and drag it from the promotions tab over to the Primary tab. Releasing the mouse will drop the email into the primary tab. After it is dropped, Gmail will ask if you wish to make the change permanent. Click yes to make sure that all future messages from the same address will appear in the primary tab.
How long does it take to complete each course?
Each course is a self-paced course and so you can complete your studies as quickly as you wish or take your time. However all courses have access time frames which are triggered when a student clicks the Start Course button for their course. The access time frames are listed on each course page.
For example, you will have 3 months to finish the Herbal Materia Medica Course and the Becoming an Herbalist Course; 6 months to complete the Craft of Herbal Fermentation Course; 1 year to finish the Introductory Herbal Course (it usually takes 4-6 months); 1 year to finish the Botany and Wildcrafting Course; 1 year to finish the Herbal Self-Care for Stress Management Course; 2 years to finish the Intermediate Herbal Course (average is 5-8 months), 2 years to finish the Entrepreneur Herbal Course, 3 years to finish the Advanced Herbal Course.
However, the “clock” on each course you register for does not start until you press the start button for that course, so you can purchase multiple courses as a package and work through them at your own pace.
Do your courses have expiration dates?
Yes. As we provide online programs to students worldwide, it’s important for us to accommodate times of heavy traffic and to ensure that our teachers and staff are able to support and meet the needs of our students through the course forums, phone calls, and emails. This is the main reason why we must set access limits to our programs. It’s also the main reason we can price our programs much more affordably. If required, 6-month extensions are available.
The Becoming an Herbalist Course expires 3 months after you press the “start” button.
The Herbal Materia Medica Short Course expires 3 months after you press the “start” button.
The Craft of Herbal Fermentation Course expires 6 months after you press the “start” button.
The Botany and Wildcrafting Course expires 1 year after you press the “start” button.
The Botanical Skin Care Course expires 1 year after you press the “start” button.
The Herbal Self-Care for Stress Management Course expires 1 year after you press the “start” button.
The Mushroom Course expires 1 year after you press the “start” button.
The Introductory Herbal Course expires 1 year after you press the “start” button.
The Intermediate Herbal Course expires 2 years after you press the “start” button.
The Entrepreneur Herbal Course expires 2 years after you press the “start” button.
The Advanced Herbal Course expires 3 years after you press the start button.
What if I'm unable to finish my course within the time access period? Can I get an extension?
Because we know that “life happens,” we have calculated the time access for each course to be double the amount of time the average student will need to complete the course. However, if you need more time beyond that please visit our extension page here to learn more about extensions and purchase an extension for your course: https://theherbalacademy.com/product-category/education/course-extensions
What can I do after I graduate from class?
Students who take our courses go on to use the information in their holistic and alternative health careers and for personal and family health care. Many students make their own products or develop herbal products businesses while others participate in herbalism education, writing, and blogging. With additional hands-on clinical experience under the direction of an experienced herbalist, Advanced Herbal Course students can also practice clinical herbalism.
When I finish my course will I be qualified to start a business or see clients?
Completing coursework with the Herbal Academy will put you on the path to your career goals. Those looking to start a business will be well prepared on the in’s and out’s of herbal business development after completing the Entrepreneur Herbal Course.
For students looking toward gaining qualifications to see clients, we very strongly recommend additional hands-on training with an experienced herbalist/mentor after completion of the Advanced Herbal Course in order to gain the hands-on experience needed to work with clients. This could be an apprenticeship where you are observing your mentor’s process in consultation and then ultimately practicing it yourself and then getting feedback from your mentor. We give suggestions for receiving this type of training in one of the lessons in the Advanced Herbal Course.
Can the Herbal Academy help me become a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild?
To apply for the Registered Herbalist designation from the American Herbalists Guild, you will need an advanced background in herbalism. Just as the content within the Advanced Course and Clinical Herbalist Path will help you prepare for the hands-on clinical training that will be necessary prior to opening your own clinic as professional herbalist, these courses will also help you to meet a portion of the study hours required to fulfill the AHG educational requirements – giving you a foundation in materia medica, therapeutics, science, and practice management.
Our courses will provide a portion of the study hours you would need to apply for AHG Registered Herbalist. We typically estimate that it will take 125 hours to complete the Introductory Herbal Course, 175 hours for the Intermediate Course, and 500 hours for the Advanced Course. Completion of these courses will get you well on your way to the number of study hours needed to apply to the AHG.
Depending on how extensive the student’s herbal background is, additional advanced training hours may likely be needed to fulfill the AHG requirement of 1200 study hours. In addition, students need to seek out 400 hours hands-on training under the guidance of an experienced herbalist or mentoring program. Of course, the AHG review process will evaluate a student’s proficiency in herbalism, and is not just based on study hours. You can read more about the AHG requirements here http://www.americanherbalistsguild.com/becoming-ahg-professional-member
Criteria and application process can be found here: http://www.americanherbalistsguild.com/sites/default/files/criteria_and_instructions_for_ahg_application.pdf
Does the Entrepreneur Herbal Course include regulatory information for other countries other than the U.S.?
The Entrepreneur Herbal Course is geared towards those who want to make and sell their own herbal products and includes lessons on sourcing herbs, Good Manufacturing Practices, labeling requirements, creating a brand, and building a business, among many other topics. We include exercises on creating a business plan, which is a critical step for anyone seeking to envision and build a business, and include interviews with entrepreneurs who have created herbal businesses. The U.S.-specific lessons in the Entrepreneur Course are the labeling and Good Manufacturing Practices lessons, which are based on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration regulatory requirements. That being said, the information in these particular lessons could be helpful to anyone who is interested in manufacturing a quality product and labeling it appropriately.
Is it too late to register for class?
We almost always keep our programs open for enrollment! Our herbal courses are designed for students to work through the lessons at their own pace and in their own environment. Sign up anytime! *The only time we close enrollment is if we experience too many student registrations at one time or if we need to make adjustments to our website!
Why do the courses have cost variations and price ranges?
The price variations reflect our payment plans. For example, if you register for the online Introductory Herbal Course, you can pay $297 all at once, or in 6 consecutive monthly payments of $49.50. Or if our print version is in stock, you can register for the online and print version for $496.00. So you will see a range $49.50 – $$496.00 on the product page. Please see next question to learn more about payment plans and how to choose them.
Tell me about your payment plans.
Students can choose to pay for a course all at once or in installments. For example, if you register for the the Introductory Course, you can pay $297 all at once, or in 6 consecutive monthly payments of $49.50. Once all six payments have been received, the student’s course or Path Package will be paid in full and no further payments will be processed. Please see each product page for specifics.
These payment plans are only available as advertised and cannot be adjusted beyond the number of months advertised.
The timing of the payment installments are based on your first payment upon registration. Example: If you enroll on September 24 in the Introductory Course with a six-month installment plan, you pay your first installment on September 24, your second installment will be automatically withdrawn on October 24, and your third installment will be withdrawn on November 24, and so on.
There is no option to change the date of a payment plan once enrollment has been completed.
To choose to pay in installments, go to the course you’d like to register for and click on the drop down menu to choose how you would like to pay as shown in the screenshot here:
Does the Herbal Academy offer scholarships or financial aid?
We do not offer scholarships or accept financial aid at this time as we have priced our courses to be as low as possible. Our most cost-effective option is to enroll in one of the package options, which bundles together several courses at a discount. We do run sales several times a year – the best way to keep informed about sales is by signing up for our newsletter.
Are herbs, books, and supplies required and/or included in the course?
No supplies are included in registration fees and no herbs or books will be mailed to you. Since one of the most important aspects of learning herbalism is working directly with herbs, we encourage students to acquire small amounts of herbs to work with in recipes that are included throughout the courses. We also encourage students to acquire a few good herbal reference books. When you register, you will be sent a welcome email with a list of suggested herbs and books.
We understand the need to keep costs low; fortunately, you can find books for free at the library or for relatively cheap in used bookstores. You can also find affordable ways to create projects with items you might already have in your house: olive oil, kitchen herbs and spices, jars, etc. Natural food stores usually include a bulk herb section in which you can measure out small amounts of herbs for a few dollars a bag. For those students who need to order herbs, we offer 10% off discounts in conjunction with Mountain Rose Herbs and 25% off with Bulk Herb Store. Registered students can find these discounts in their Student Dashboard.
What supplies do I need for the Botanical Skin Care Course?
With so many wonderful tutorials and recipes to create during this course, we have pulled together a recommended supply list to help you prepare for your studies. This list will be emailed to you once your registration is confirmed.
You can also find the list by clicking the following button:
Download the Botanical Skin Care Course Supply list as a PDF
Don’t let this list intimidate you! You do not need to purchase all of these items! This is simply a full list of all ingredients to help you reference as you plan out which recipes you choose to prepare. Some ingredients are optional or interchangeable and many ingredients are used across a host of recipes so there are plenty of items you could purchase to prepare several different recipes. The recipes you choose to make and the ingredients you choose to include is, of course, entirely up to you!
What materials do you need for the Making Herbal Preparations 101 Mini Course?
It isn’t required to purchase herbs or supplies for this class but for those of you who would like to dive right into recipe creation here is a list of the herbs we are going to be mainly focusing on in this program along with other helpful supplies you may wish to gather. If you wish, you can begin to gather herbs from this list that interest you or you can wait until class begins and you have the opportunity to review the recipes provided.
When it comes to purchasing herbs from online or local suppliers, a good guideline to follow is to purchase hard herbs (e.g., berries, bark, seeds) and powdered herbs in smaller amounts (1-2 ounces) and to purchase soft herbs (e.g., aerial parts (leaf and flower)) in larger amounts (4 ounces). Some herbs (e.g., lamb’s quarters, a common “weed”) are difficult to find from bulk suppliers and will require wild-harvesting.
The following nutritive herbs are discussed and used throughout the course. Since nutritive herbs are safe for most individuals and are used in larger amounts, we recommend students purchasing 4 ounces of dried herb(s) (1-2 cups if using fresh herb(s)) of their choosing from this list.
- burdock (Arctium lappa) root
- chickweed (Stellaria media) aboveground parts
- dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) leaf
- hawthorn (Crataegus spp.) berry, aerial parts
- lamb’s quarters (Chenopodium album) leaf
- nettle (Urtica dioica) leaf
- oat (Avena sativa) milky seed and straw
- raspberry (Rubus idaeus) leaf
- red clover (Trifolium pratense) aerial parts
- violet (Viola spp.) aerial parts

Cancellation and Refund Policy
The Herbal Academy’s cancellation policy assumes that expenses and arrangements have been made by the Herbal Academy on behalf of the student during the enrollment process.
Can I get a refund? What is the refund policy for online programs?
Please see our full refund policy here: https://theherbalacademy.com/disclosure/
Students enrolled in all first edition courses may be refunded 80% of course registration price within the first 7 days of the registration date. There are no refunds after 7 days of course registration, including for those students on payment plans.
Non-transferred students enrolled in the second edition Introductory and Intermediate Herbal Courses, may be refunded 80% of course registration price within the first 7 days of the registration date, unless the monograph or recipe PDF documents are downloaded. There are no refunds if these documents are downloaded. Students will be asked to confirm this action before downloading these PDF documents. There are no refunds after 7 days of course registration even if the student has not accessed their course during that time.
No refunds or cancellation of payment plans will occur for students who have accessed 50% or more of any course within the first 7 days of enrollment.
For students registering for online courses that have official launch dates, cancellation up to 7 days after the launch date will be refunded at 80% of the registration price (see exceptions above). After 7 days, there will be no refunds available.
No refunds will be granted for transfer administrative fees or for any tuition paid on first edition courses that are past 7 days of registration.
All payment plans will remain active unless cancellation occurs within the first 7 days. For those students paying in installments, refunds are calculated based on the entire course cost, not the first installment. When calculating refunds for accounts paid in installments, HA will keep 20% of the cost of the course. In some cases where the initial payment for a payment plan is less than 20% of the total course registration price (enrolled with the 6 month payment plan option), a refund will not be issued upon cancellation of your course or path package.
Students enrolled with a payment plan are responsible for paying for the course in full. Payments for payment plans are withdrawn automatically each month and there is no option to stop payment once the student has enrolled with a payment plan unless enrollment is canceled within the first 7 days after enrolling. Should there be a declined or failed payment, students must manually confirm the payment through their student account. The Herbal Academy will perform multiple automated attempts to collect the payment of a failed or overdue installment to fulfill this agreement until accounts with failed payments are paid in full. If a failed or declined payment is not paid within 3 months, the Herbal Academy reserves the right to cancel the student’s enrollment entirely and remove student access to their course, including any and all course progress and quiz records to date. In this case, students will not be refunded previous payments made towards the course. To continue with the course, students shall be required to re-enroll in the course without payment credit for past payments.
What is the cancellation policy for The Herbarium memberships?
The Herbarium is your virtual and vibrant collection of herbal resources. The website will grow with new articles, podcasts, videos, media tools and of course monographs. It’s kind of like a virtual magazine! Your subscription covers an entire year of material, dished out each and every month. While there are no refunds after joining, you can cancel your subscription anytime, which will deactivate your annual renewal. In The Herbarium website, go under “my account” and choose the cancel option. Because you paid for an annual subscription, your access will be good for the rest of the year. We’re sad to see you go.
What is the failed or declined payment policy? What if I don't pay all of my installments?

Do you offer extended payment plans offered for courses? Can I pay for my course registration in different options than available on the course page?
Available course payment plans are listed on each individual course page. We do not offer different payment plan options than those listed.
Does the Herbal Academy offer scholarships or financial aid?
We do not offer scholarships or accept financial aid at this time as we have priced our courses to be as low as possible. Our most cost-effective option is to enroll in one of the path or package options, which bundles together several courses at a discount. We do run sales several times a year – the best way to keep informed about sales is by signing up for our newsletter.
Are herbs, books, and supplies required and/or included in the course registration?
For those students who need to order herbs, we offer a 10% off discount in conjunction with Mountain Rose Herbs and 25% off with Bulk Herb Store. Registered students can find these discounts in their Student Dashboard.

Mastering Herbal Formulation Course FAQ
What skill level is this course best suited for?
While this course can certainly be enjoyed by herbalists of all skill levels, and we’ve included plenty of foundational information for beginners, we do recommend having a basic herbal foundation in place through self study, our Introductory Herbal Course, or a local apprenticeship.
What preparations are covered in the course?
This course gives students a foundation in herbal formulation approaches that can be applied to any herbal preparation. However, tutorials for several types of herbal preparations are included in the course: infusions, decoctions, syrups, tinctures (maceration and percolation), vinegars, glycerites, honeys, infused oils, salves, creams, and lotions.
Does this course include recipes?
Yes, there are example recipes in the course that primarily serve as case studies, but this offering is really about teaching you how to develop your OWN recipes. You know the old saying, “Give a man a fish, and you’ll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you’ll feed him for a lifetime”? Well, friends, our Mastering Herbal Formulation Course is all about teaching you to fish (so to speak!).
What supplies do I need?
This course is entirely self-paced and online, so you’ll need approximately 30 hours to study along with internet access and a computer or tablet. You will most likely want a writing utensil and notebook to take notes. (Or upgrade your registration with our Formulary Notebook and Worksheet Set to keep track of your herbal experiments!) You will formulate and choose your own recipes to create, so herbs and other ingredients are completely your choice!
Does this course include videos?
Yes, our wonderful clinical herbalists and educators present eight informative videos on everything from “Tips for Skillful Formulation” to “Intuitive Formulation” and more. The course is primarily composed of written lessons, with helpful videos sprinkled throughout to elaborate on certain topics.

Entrepreneur Herbal Course Closing
and New Herbal Business Course Questions
I am enrolled in the Entrepreneur Herbal Course, how will this affect me?
Options for CURRENT Entrepreneur Herbal Course Students
OPTION 1: STAY WHERE YOU ARE
It’s been a privilege to share our entrepreneurial journey with thousands of students and an absolute joy to have witnessed so many beautiful stories of student businesses getting off the ground with the guidance of our Entrepreneur Herbal Course! This is a wonderful program exactly as it is so if you are enrolled, please enjoy it to the fullest! New registration will close, but the course will stay active. You do not need to do a thing!
OPTION 2: TRANSFER TO THE NEW COURSE
Does an expanded offering pique your interest? We understand you may want in, so we will be sure to provide all of our past and current Entrepreneur Herbal Course students a one time $50 administrative fee to transfer to the fresh Business Herbal Course during our fall release. This is completely optional – and we’ll share more details as we approach September.
I am already enrolled in the Entrepreneur Herbal Course, will I be eligible for the bonuses if I transfer?
Yes, yes, yes! Transfer by September 19th and you will get immediate access to $1,500 in bonuses.
I am interested in going through the Entrepreneur Course and then also going through the new Business Herbal Course with a transfer. Is this possible?
You are welcome to complete the Entrepreneur Herbal Course and then move in the Business Herbal Course with the transfer option. We’d suggest making that transfer sometime in 2021-2022 while the transfer option is available.
I am enrolled in the Entrepreneur Herbalist Path Package and haven't started the Entrepreneur Herbal Course portion of my Path yet, will I still be able to take the Entrepreneur portion if I don't start before Fall?
Rest assured, you will be able to complete the Entrepreneur Herbal Course as normal when the timing works for you. If you decide you want to take the Business Herbal Course instead, you can also do that with the transfer option.
I’d like to transfer, but does that mean I will lose my other Entrepreneur Herbal Course and certificate?
Once you transfer, you will find the Entrepreneur Herbal Course is replaced by the Business Herbal Course in your Student Dashboard. Your Certificate will stay in your Student Dashboard, and you will have the opportunity to earn a new Certificate if you complete the Business Herbal Course.
My Entrepreneur Herbal Course is expired, will I be able to transfer to the new Business Herbal Course even though my access is expired?
Yes, we’d be delighted to have you join us in the Business Herbal Course when it opens up. A transfer page will become available nearing the Fall release, and you will be able to register for the program then (even with an expired course).
What is the transfer fee for Entrepreneur Herbal Course students to move into the Business Herbal Course?
We are only asking a one time $50 administrative fee to transfer your Entrepreneur Herbal Course to the fresh Business Herbal Course.
This administrative fee matches our current 6 month extension fee, but instead of a 6 month extension, you will get 2 years access to the NEW program—your 2 year access begins only when you click the Start Course Button.
To transfer, first log into your student account and then visit the transfer page here: https://theherbalacademy.com/product/entrepreneur-herbal-course-student-transfer/
What is the price of the New Business Herbal Course?
The Business Herbal Course will start at $799 with pre-registration sales running through September 19, 2021.
What will be different between the Entrepreneur Herbal Course and Business Herbal Course?
A lot is changing, so much so that we are planning a completely new format including the addition of an entire new unit. You will see quite a drastic change with updated and additional media, videos, imagery, exercises along with new lessons and expanded lessons. You will hear from dozens of successful entrepreneurs and brands similar to the Herbal Academy, as well as numerous student graduates who’ve opened their own businesses!
Over 25 interviews and featured expertise by successful brands of all sizes including established powerhouses Mountain Rose Herbs, Frontier Co-Op, and Urban Moonshine, friends in the publishing world such as Simply Living Well and Nerdy Farm Wife, longtime partners like the reputable Ultimate Bundles, and Herbal Academy alumni featured brands such as The Herbal Scoop, Herbal Entrepreneur Conference, Grow Forage Cook Ferment, and so, so many more!
The Business Herbal Course will have 7 Units instead of 6 Units. While a lot is added to the course, we will also remove 9 Lessons (reserved exclusively to the Advanced Herbal Course) that no longer fit with the new layout and course goals. These 9 lessons that won’t be included in the Business Herbal Course include the herbalism history and herbal traditions overview lessons in the first two units of the Entrepreneur Herbal Course. In addition, the Advanced Formulation lesson will be replaced by an entirely new formulation lesson and the Defining Your Path lesson will be expanded into three new lessons
How long will this course take me to complete?
The Entrepreneur Herbal Course takes most students 6-8 months to complete, estimated a total of 75 hours. Students have access to the online portion of the course for 2 years.
The Business Herbal Course will *likely* take students 7-12 months to complete, with approximately 150 hours to be expected. Students have access to the online portion of the course for 2 years.
Will I receive a certificate after I complete this course?
Yes! The Entrepreneur Herbal Course includes a certificate of completion as will our Business Herbal Course.
I am enrolled in the Advanced Herbal Course, and plan to use the discount offered to take the Entrepreneur Herbal Course. Will that still work?
Registration for the Entrepreneur Herbal Course closed permanently on June 11, 2021. For any Advanced Herbal Course students registered prior to June 12, 2021, we will honor the discount of $247 ($297 – $50 transfer fee) to be applied during registration to the new Business Herbal Course through the end of 2021. You must contact our team for this enrollment request.
At the end of 2021, the discount code for Advanced Herbal Course students registering for the Business Herbal Course will be restructured. Unlike the Entrepreneur Herbal Course, the new course will no longer have 9 Lessons from the Advanced Herbal Course. Any subjects that may have some crossover between these programs will be updated with our new release.
I am an international student considering transferring from the Entrepreneur Herbal Course to Business Herbal Course, will this benefit me?
Much of the expanded content will benefit herbal entrepreneurs worldwide (e.g., visioning, business planning, formulation, preservation, product development, packaging, practice management, building your brand, etc.). The expanded content in the two lessons on regulations are still primarily focused on regulations for product makers in the U.S.
When can I find out more about the Business Herbal Course?
Our team will more information about this course once enrollment opens up later in the year. If you have interest in either the Entrepreneur Herbal Course or the later released Business Herbal Course, we do suggest enrolling now in the Entrepreneur Herbal Course to lock in the best rate on enrollment. We’re offering all enrolled Entrepreneur Herbal Course students a one-time admin transfer fee of $50 to move into the Business Herbal Course. That way you’ll pay for the current Entrepreneur Herbal course price ($597) plus the $50 transfer fee, for a total of $647, (versus the new price of $697). This will be the best way to secure the lowest tuition rate, $50 less than the full price.
Or, if you’re not ready to take the jump, keep watching emails for the release info once it’s available!
2019 Introductory and Intermediate Herbal Course New Editions Questions
I’m an enrolled student. How do the 2019 new programs affect me?
The great news is you can decide to stay just where you are or join us in these new offerings.
Option 1. Stay where you are.
The Introductory Herbal Course and Intermediate Herbal Course have been transformed with a new course flow, which makes it impossible to migrate these changes into our current course structure. There is just TOO much added to the classes for this option to work for our current students. If you would like to stick it out in the wonderful course you are already enrolled in, no worries! You don’t have to do a thing! Just continue to enjoy your studies as if nothing changed.
Option 2. Join us in the fresh programs!
We open the doors to you in these fresh programs, available to begin on or after February 20, 2019! Whether you have completely finished your course(s), worked your way through part of it, or haven’t started yet, you have the option to sign up for this transfer option to enjoy the expanded course(s) from the very beginning. Transferring is permanent and cannot be undone. Upon transferring, you will immediately lose access to your old program.
Transfer to the new Introductory Herbal Course here.
Transfer to the new Intermediate Herbal Course here.
When I transfer, is my access to my old course removed right away?
Yes, access to previous course is immediately removed. This cannot be reversed. The new course will be available on February 20, 2019.
Is the $50 transfer fee per course transfer? If I want to transfer, do I pay a fee for each course?
Yes, the $50 fee is per course (Introductory and Intermediate) for students currently enrolled in the courses who would like to transfer. If you transfer into the Introductory Herbal Course new edition, the fee is $50. And if you transfer into the Intermediate Herbal Course new edition, that is also $50. In other words, to transfer into one course is $50; to transfer into both is $100. You can decide to transfer into one or both (or neither).
When I transfer, will I lose progress on my previous course?
Yes, access to previous course is immediately removed. All transfer students must begin their programs again from the beginning and retake the quizzes. However, all previously earned certificates will remain in your dashboard.
If I transfer to the new course and decide I want my old one back, can I cancel the transfer?
No. All transfers are permanent and cannot be reversed.
I already earned a certificate in the Introductory and/or Intermediate Herbal Course(s) and my course has expired. Can I access the new editions?
Yes! If your account is in good standing and is paid-in-full, you are invited to enroll yourself as a transfer student into the new editions. While your previously earned certificates will remain in your dashboard, your prior course will be removed permanently. This cannot be undone.
If I choose to transfer, will I have to restart my course?
Students who choose to transfer will need to start their studies over from the beginning. Course access time will reset with the transfer so you can start your studies in your new course when you are ready! Once you start your new class, you’ll have access to a full year’s access for the Introductory Herbal Course and 2 years access for the Intermediate Herbal Course.
All previously earned certificates will remain in your student dashboard.
Do I have to transfer to a new course?
Students currently enrolled in the Introductory and/or Intermediate Courses have the option to transfer to the new editions of these courses. Transfers are not available for other courses.
If I'm currently enrolled in both classes want to transfer into just one of the new course editions, do I need to transfer into both or can I choose which one to transfer to?
You can choose which course you’d like to transfer into.
What’s different about the new editions?
Between the two new editions of the Introductory and Intermediate Herbal Courses, we have added:
- 36 videos between the courses
- New and expanded monographs––over 225 between the courses
- Many new, revised, and/or expanded lessons
- New compiled Materia Medica Reference charts
- New and revised course graphics
- Fresh inspiring photography
- New hands-on experiential exercises
- Additional recipes
- Redesigned course booklets
- Revised quizzes
- New transcript download options for all videos
- The most current and accurate research
- Re-structured course presentation
- Lower monthly payment plan options
How does the transfer work?
- With an update to course pricing in place, our transfer fee is currently being offered at a flat rate of $50—far less than the difference between our original course and new course tuition rates (up to 75% off). With all the updates to class, this is a very fair arrangement for our students to get full access to the new programs AND an extension on course access while still covering our costs.
- Your transfer purchase cannot be undone and cannot be refunded. Absolutely no exceptions.
- With your purchase of the transfer, your course featured in your Student Dashboard will be replaced by the updated program. You will not have access to your old program and quizzes after you make your transfer.
- The new courses will be ready for you to begin on or after February 20th.
- Keep in mind, some of the course structure has changed, so you will begin your studies from the very beginning of class. Bonus: your expiration date is reset! Just click “Start Course” when you would like to begin!
- If you graduated from your class already, your certificate will stay in place. You will get an opportunity to earn a second certificate with your completion.
Why are you charging an administrative fee to transfer?
The new editions of these courses are valued much higher than the original courses you originally enrolled in, with numerous updates, additions, and revisions throughout.
Running an online school with thousands of daily students is complex, and, among many moving parts includes back-end technical features that are highly customized. This customization allows us to offer our students the best possible experience, in terms of aesthetics, function, and ease of use. With this customization comes large expenses, including customization that will allow you to easily transfer to the new editions.
We are pleased to offer students the $50 transfer option, a small fee relative to the enormous costs involved in this project. In our view, this is a good deal for students. These new editions are worth much more than $50––AND, the transfer allows the student to reset their access to these courses, even those who have already earned their certificates, thereby providing them with a free extension on their course.
