As rose season bows to a close, put the last of your roses to good use in this delicately flavored gin gimlet. This enchanting cocktail combines the timeless elegance of a classic gin gimlet with the subtle floral notes of rose petals and elderflower, creating a sensory experience that is both refreshing and captivating. Blush Rose Gimlet


This enchanting cocktail combines the timeless elegance of a classic gin gimlet with the subtle floral notes of rose petals and elderflower.

Ingredients

2 ounces (60 ml) gin
1 ounce (30 ml) elderflower liqueur, chilled
¼ ounce (7.5 ml) lemon juice
½ ounce (15 ml) rose simple syrup
5 dashes orange bitters champagne or Prosecco, a generous splash
rose petal ice cubes
fresh rose bud or sage leaf

Directions
  • Make rose simple syrup according to the recipe on page 269.
  • Make rose petal ice cubes according to the recipe on page 215.
  • Combine the first five ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously for fifteen seconds until well-chilled.
  • Strain over rose petal ice cubes into a coupe glass.
  • Garnish with a fresh rose bud, blossom, petal, or sage leaf.

Note: To make this cocktail a mocktail, substitute the gin and liqueur with lemon or elderflower-infused water, soda water, or a nonalcoholic spirit of choice.
