Peterson's Field Guide: Western Medicinal Plants and Herbs
Geared toward the Western North America; plant photos organized by color; text outlines plant traits, habitat, uses, and warnings for more than 530 important medicinal plants.
Peterson Field Guides, Medicinal Plants and Herbs is one book that never fails to accompany me on a foraging trip. This book has been invaluable in helping me identify unfamiliar plants I come across, explaining a plant’s botanical description to my kids, or quickly searching for beneficial health properties a plant might have. It also provides information on the most common plant parts used, plant toxicity, and where the plant has been located. Beyond its usefulness in foraging, it is a great book to accompany me and my kids on our nature studies for school!
