Biography

Lisa is a clinical herbalist, ayurvedic health counselor, yoga instructor, and medicine grower and maker. Always fond of plants, she first studied plant evolution and ecology at the University of Vermont, receiving a BS in Botany, and later, plant and soil science at the University of Maine. She became increasingly interested in herbalism while working with native medicinals as a conservation botanist on the west coast.
Working with plants in some capacity for over 15 years, Lisa began focusing on plants as medicine as an intern at Herb Pharm in 2007 and continued her herbal education and graduated from Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism's clinical herbalist training program in 2012. After a couple of years working as an herbalist and yoga instructor, Lisa fell in love with ayurveda as a bridge between the two practices. She became an ayurvedic health counselor in 2015 and has since been an advocate for looking at local and wild Vermont plants through the lens of ayurveda–keeping herbal medicine close to home. She grows many western and ayurvedic herbs on her homestead in Vermont where she finds joy in creating large herbal concoctions in her tiny kitchen.
Lisa works within the Course Development Department at the Herbal Academy, Faculty and Clinical Herbalist at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism in Montpelier, VT, and Co-owner of Blossom Ayurveda in Montpelier, VT.
