Biography

I am an herbalist, activist, yoga teacher, mindfulness coach, singer, gardener, forager, chicken mama, and world traveler. My interest in herbs and alternative healing practices stemmed from my sick childhood. I was constantly ill and the doctors couldn’t ever figure out what was wrong. I was tested for everything from mono to leukemia and still no answers.
As I grew up, I began to gain an interest in nutrition and more natural ways of healing my body since modern medicine wasn’t helping me. It was that frustration and fatigue that sparked my interest in the relationship between immunity and nutrition. I grabbed every book I could get my hands on and really began to pay attention to the signals my body was giving me. In 2012, I traveled to India to obtain my yoga certification, which led me into the practice of Ayurveda. This was one of the first times I had experienced a medical practice that included all aspects of the human being. As I expanded on my Ayurvedic knowledge, I was again called to the practice of herbs, which eventually led me to get a formal herbal education with the Herbal Academy.
Currently, I am in the process of opening a brick and mortar space for my herbal company, The Herbal Scoop LLC. I want everyone who walks into my shop to feel like they are in the driver’s seat of their own wellness. My goal is to have customers and clients dig in, discover, ask questions, and leave empowered.
Outside of working in my shop, I am growing and harvesting veggies and herbs in my new (800sq ft) garden at my new home in the Catskills area of NY! Growing my own food and herbs is a dream come true and directly connects me to nature in a really beautiful way.
