⏰ Time is running out to receive free bonuses when you enroll in the new Herbal Bitters Mini Course!

We are about to get started in the Introductory Herbal Course, your online self study program!

Here are some resources to help you get set up for the course.

As you prepare for the course, we highly recommend obtaining copies of at least three herbal books to be used as additional resources in your studies. As part of the course, we would like you to begin a personal materia medica. Because of the variable nature of herbal information, you’ll want to cross-reference your research against three different sources, at the very least.

If you don’t wish to purchase materials, your local library will have herbal books on hand.

Herbs

From time to time, we may assign various projects that require loose herbs. While these projects are optional we believe that nothing can teach you more about herbs than working with them directly, so we hope you will participate if you are able. Many natural food stores and co-ops carry herbs at inexpensive bulk rates. If no resources exist near you, we suggest looking online to obtain herbs. Some of our favorite online herbal shops are:

Mountain Rose Herbs
Frontier Co-op
Star-West Botanicals
The Herb Shop
Jean’s Greens

A few of our favorite herbs discussed in this course include the following. Place an order early if you wish, and have herbs on hand for when the course begins. Choose a few that interest you!

Echinacea angustifolia root
Peppermint leaf
Yarrow leaf/flower
Lavender flowers
Black elder flower and berry
Lemon balm leaf
Hyssop aerial parts
Catnip leaf
Dried and/or fresh sage leaf
Dried and/or fresh thyme leaf
Black peppercorns
Rosemary leaf
Orange peel
Fresh and/or dried ginger root
Turmeric root powder
Holy basil (also known as Tulsi) leaf
Linden leaf/flower
Skullcap aerial parts
Red Clover blossoms
Nettle leaf
Calendula
Lady’s Mantle aerial parts

Some supplies you may need to practice your unit projects include:

Notebook, index cards, 8 oz. mason jars, cheese cloth, strainer, large bowls, funnel, small 1 or 2 oz. bottles, raw wildflower honey, apple cider vinegar, high proof brandy or vodka, natural waxed paper. Amazon will carry most of these supplies if you are looking to shop online.

Thank you again for joining us on this very special journey. See you soon!
