Biography

Zoë Gardner, Ph.D., is a self-proclaimed herb nerd with over 20 years of experience working with medicinal plants. A specialist in medicinal plant quality and safety, she is the author of the 2nd edition of the Botanical Safety Handbook, a book that details the safety of over 500 medicinal plants. She earned a Ph.D. in plant science from the University of Massachusetts and helped found the Medicinal Plant Program there. Zoë has overseen product development and product safety at a large herbal supplement company, and now runs HerbNerd Research, a business that provides regulatory and technical support for herbal product companies. She is co-founder of Emblossom, a conference and educational hub for growing herbal product brands.
