Biography

Sarah is an acupuncturist, herbalist and doula specializing in hormonal, reproductive and perinatal healthcare. Sarah has been in private practice on Mount Desert Island, Maine since 2009 and is also a teacher, writer and lifelong student of clinical herbalism. Sarah’s herbal education spans three decades and three herbal traditions with formal training in Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Herbalism. Sarah works closely with providers in her local rural hospital system where she has the opportunity to consult with many individuals who have had no prior exposure to this type of care. She enjoys helping her patients to create joyful, trusting relationships with herbs and sharing in their amazement of how effective herbs can be! Exacting formulation and integrating herbs safely with complex chronic health conditions and pharmaceuticals are areas of special interest for her. When not in the clinic or at a birth, Sarah enjoys paddling, knitting, reading really great fiction and renovating the 1885 farmhouse she shares with her husband and two sons.
