Biography
Maria Christodoulou is a clinical herbalist exploring the practice of ancient Greek herbal medicine as The Greek Herbalist. In a previous lifetime, she lived on a farm in ancient Greece and found the cure for plagues. Maria researches and writes about medicinal plants depicted in fantastical myths, ancient scientific writings, and artistic representations that have survived for thousands of years. Her interest to explore the wisdom and whimsy of Greek antiquity stems from the combination of her ancestral lineage, her affinity to nature, and her educational degrees. She is a graduate of ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism in New York City and earned a Master's degree in Library Science from Drexel University and a Bachelor's degree in Classics from Bucknell University.
In her clinical practice, Maria combines elements of Western Herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Ayurveda. She finds joy in formulating personalized herbal tea blends for her clients and spending time in the garden. It is her hope that the current pandemic can teach us to be more present and connected to the earth.
