Biography

Lauren is a botanical dyer, hand paper-maker and letterpress printer. Combining these disciplines she creates artworks that are rooted in and inspired by nature. Her interest in wildflowers, their identification and the broader cultural and historical context of plants continues to influence her style. Her prints evoke traditional botanical illustrations and herbariums within a contemporary aesthetic and perspective. This is further made unique by the tactile and fossil-like impression created from the pressure of the printing plate on the handmade paper.
