Biography
Annet Zakaryan, PhD is a well rounded and highly accomplished professional with more than 15 years of expertise in scientific and regulatory affairs related to botanical drugs and herbal dietary supplements. In addition to her scientific and regulatory experience, she has years of consulting experience as a botanist/scientific adviser with Department of Traditional Medicine of World Health Organization (Geneva, Switzerland) and as a freelance consultant for NSF-Health Sciences. Also, Dr. Zakaryan has years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at the Yerevan State University and held an adjunct academic appointment at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of the National Institute of Health. Her research and practical experience has focused on plant taxonomy, medicinal botany, pharmacognosy, herbal medicinal product efficacy/safety and regulatory compliance.
Dr. Zakaryan published extensively. Her prior publication history includes more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 2 monographs: “Armenian National Formulary on Herbal Medicines” and “World Health Organization Monographs on medicinal plants commonly used in the Newly Independent States”, V.5. 2011, (Eds.).
